Pre Installed OS VirtualBox Images VDI Downloads – Free VDI Downloads

VirtualBox Images Free VDI DownloadsIf you are a lazy person like me (sometimes only) then this post will be useful to download pre installed OS VirtualBox images as VDI files.  It saves your time. You do not need to get installation CD or download ISO image and install it in Sun VirtualBox. Just Download these Free VDI (VirtualBox Hard Disk files) files and start using them.

These free VDI file downloads are direct and not torrent. So do not worry about spyware or malware.  Obviously don’t ask me where to download license version operating system VDI images anything like Windows XP, Vista. But still it’s possible to download some licensed versions OS VDI files on internet. You search and find. This list is mostly included free and open license OSs.

Setup Shared Folders in VirtualBox, Easy Way to Read/Write Access on Physical Partition

Setup Shared Folders in VirtulBoxShared Folders in Sun VirtualBox is a good option to share data between virtual machine (guest) and physical machine (Host).  This post explains how you can setup shared folders in VirtualBox with read and write access on physical partition in host.

In my earlier post, I explained about accessing physical disk and partition as raw disk in virtual machine. Its a raw disk access and not having real time read or write access on disk. But it worked as one of drive in host. Shared folders in VirtualBox work as network share between host and guest with real time read and write access. In this example, my host is windows 7 and guest is windows XP. I’m going to access Windows 7 host partition in Windows XP guest VirtualBox virtual machine.

Most of the desktop virtualization software users do not know about this unity mode or seamless mode. But it’s very useful and helps to access host and guest in same time.
