Before you start the internet sharing, make sure your Local Area Network (LAN) is working fine and all computers are communicating each. Follow the below steps,
1) Right click on the dial up connection you want to share in your network, select properties..
2) Select ‘ Advanced’ tab.
3) Under ‘Internet Connection Sharing’. select Allow other….. check box mentioned below, this will allow other computers to connect internet through this computer and other check boxes below will be enabled. also you will get a message if you don’t save dial up user name and password for all users.

4) If you want other users to connect internet even if this connection is not connected to internet, then you can select the second check box ‘ Establish a dial up…..’. This will enable automatic dialing when ever a computer attempts to connect internet, so in this case, you have save the dial up user name and password for all users.
Also if you want other users to control the specific internet connection you can select third box ‘ Allow other network users to …….’.
5) Once you click OK button, you will get one more message as below,

You have to click Yes for share internet, and it will reset your LAN adapter IP address of the computer to 192.168.0.1.so you will lose the connectivity with other computers and internet sharing also will not other computers if you use static IP address in your network.
This happens due to the LAN security in windows. in brief, when you share internet for your network (LAN) computers, your LAN become part of internet network. if you don’t have proper firewall or non routable IP address configured in your network, hackers or unauthorized people can access your network resources from internet when you connected with internet. there for by default when you share internet connection in LAN Windows will automatically changes the IP address to one of the non routable IP address 192.168.0.1.
No one can access your network from internet if you have your LAN in 192.168.0. network which you share internet in this method.
6) After you share the internet connection, in three ways you can make sure internet connection sharing and other network connectivity working fine in your LAN.
a) Enable obtain IP address automatically for all other computers’ LAN adapter setting. After shared internet connection, the particular computer will start a DHCP service, and issue IP address in 192.168.0 network for all computers. so you network will be fine in this method.

b) Manually give IP address to all computers in your network. in 192.168.0 series, make gateway 192.168.0.1 which is having internet shared.
Eg- 192.168.0.150 is one of the computer manual IP address and 192.168.0.1 is your internet sharing computer IP address.
You can give DNS addresses of your ISP (Internet Service Provider)

c) if you cant do the above two steps and you already configured your network with a different static IP address, then you can change back the IP address of internet sharing computer from 192.168.0.1 to previous IP address, and other all computers’ gateway IP address should be the internet connection sharing computer’s IP address. But this will be very risky since you are using routable IP address.

Eg- if you change IP address of internet sharing computer to 192.5.2.200, then one of the computer IP configuration can be as above.
You can give DNS addresses of your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
Now your network and internet connection sharing will work fine in your LAN. This is the basic method to share internet without any additional software or hardware. There are lot of other ways to share internet with more secure and administration in Windows environment.
