1) First, you must know your Windows 8 key, this key will help you activating Windows 8.1. Lost the key? If you bought Windows 8 online, you must have received a confirmation email on your id which will have an activation key. If you have Windows 8 that came embedded with the laptop or PC, you can extract it from the BIOS
2) After you have the Windows 8 key, hit the ‘Windows + r’ key combination and you will have the Run dialog box in front of you.
3) Type slui.exe 3 and hit ‘Enter’ key or click OK.
4) You will see the following screen.
