Configure and Set up NFS Share on Windows 7 hanewin I’m posting this as a answer for a question asked by Sysprobs reader. How to configure and setting up NFS share on Windows 7 and connect it to VMware ESX server as storage. Network File System (NFS) developed by Sun Microsystems to use in UNIX based systems.

To setup NFS share on earlier Microsoft Operating systems, you need a component called ‘Windows Services for UNIX (WSFU)’ which can be downloaded from Microsoft. But WSFU is not for Windows 7. So, creating NFS share on Windows 7 and allowing other UNIX based Operating Systems to access the share is not straight forward without third party utilities.  Read more...

ie8win7Windows 7 is a good OS from Microsoft after Windows XP (my opinion); it came with lot of new features and works really faster than Windows Vista. Windows 7 has Internet Explorer 8 which is good browser, but as usual you get problems with Internet explorer 8 in Windows 7 after some days.

After you installed third party software, add-ons, tool bars and plug ins to work with Internet explorer, you may get problems. Internet explorer in Windows 7 will start hang, or not respond or take time when open it. This post explains to enable windows 7 ping response firewall, so it can respond to all ping ICMP echo requests from other network resources.

Enable Windows 7 Ping in FirewallIndication: ‘Request Time Out’ message from Windows 7 Computer and it’s not responding to ICMP echo requests from other network devices.
All network sharings are working but ping reply is not working , so how to enable ping reply in Windows 7?

Reasons: By default ICMP echo requests, used for ping command is blocked in Windows 7 firewall default settings.
