Indications: 
XP booting is slow
XP taking long time for startup
After you installed some programs, now your computer is very slow to boot
Reason :
When ever you install a program/software in your system, it installs additional services and programs in startup. There for when your computer starts up, these all programs and services will take time to load, so your computer also will be slow during booting.
Solution:
Remove the programs which are not required during startup such as chatting, multimedia, system tools software in XP startup. You do not need to uninstall these programs from computer, just remove from startup by following two methods.
You can get an idea about which are programs starting up and running in your computer by looking at ’Notification area’ in task bar. If you can see lot of programs as below, then obviously your system will be slow.

Method 1 : Remove through Start Menu.
Click on Start Button > All Programs > Startup.
If you see any programs inside startup which are not required, you can just Right click on them and delete. This will not delete or uninstall these programs from computer, but will solve your XP Booting is slow problem.
Method 2 : Advanced method through System Utility Configuration.
Click on Start Button > Run, type ‘ msconfig ‘. It will open System Utility Configuration. Go to ‘ Startup ‘ and remove the programs from startup. Do not remove some of important programs such as Anti Virus,Anti spyware or some device drivers programs, which may end up with system problem, also do not change any settings in other tabs. You have to restart your computer to take these settings effect.
